In 2007 and 2017, the Institute for the Equality of Women and Men organised a large-scale survey on the living situations and experiences of discrimination of transgender and/or gender non-binary persons in Belgium.
With this third national study, we want to find out how you are doing, where we are in the meantime and where we still need to make adjustments. Based on the results, policy recommendations will be formulated to improve the living situation of transgender and gender non-binary persons in Belgium.
This research is conducted under the supervision of Dr Joz Motmans by Quinn and Davo, two scientific employees of the Transgender Infopunt, the Flemish information, reception and expertise centre for transgender persons, their families and the wider environment.
Julie, a French-speaking researcher from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is also part of the research team.
The guidance committee consists of the sponsor, the research team, external experts, academics and representatives of social organisations active in the field of gender and sexual diversity.
